Job summary

Amiad USA in Mooresville, NC seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop, program, and implement automation and control systems for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment projects. You will collaborate with Applications and Process Engineering to ensure automated, integrated, tested, and commissioned solutions.

The role covers PLC/HMI design, control philosophies, documentation, instrumentation selection, and vendor collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or related field.
Minimum of three years designing industrial automation or process control systems.
Experience programming PLCs and HMIs.
Knowledge of instrumentation, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial communications.
Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design PLC and HMI control systems for wastewater treatment equipment and integrated process systems.
Develop control philosophies, functional descriptions, and automation sequences.
Create electrical and control system documentation including I/O lists and control narratives.
Select instrumentation and control devices including sensors and flow meters.
Collaborate with Process Engineering to translate process requirements into automated control strategies.
Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
Participate in FAT, SAT, startup, commissioning, and customer training.
