Job summary

Continental is seeking an Electrical Automation Technician in Mount Pleasant, IA, to support programming, configuration, and troubleshooting of Siemens PLCs and HMIs for mixing/compounding equipment. You’ll join a cross-functional team improving control systems and documenting wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, controls automation, mechatronics, or related engineering field
• 2+ years’ experience with control systems in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of electrical schematics and industrial networks
• Knowledge of PLCs, Allen Bradley, Siemens
• Strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willing to work on equipment and support the production and maintenance teams
• Demonstrated competency in basic use of hand tools, including multimeters
• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Siemens PLCs and HMIs for mixing/compounding equipment
• Support troubleshooting of control systems, drives, and instrumentation to reduce downtime
• Help maintain documentation of control programs and wiring diagrams
• Collaborate with engineers on equipment installations and process improvements
• Learn and apply safety standards and company policies in all tasks
• Support capital spending projects and implementations of new equipment
• Assist and support the implementation of Factory Talk and other automation software
• Work with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement projects
• Support and train maintenance technicians
• Support TPOC, Gemba, and 5S programs
• Training and coaching on MES, Camline, Iconics, WiriTec, depending on implementation package

Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Assist in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Siemens PLCs and HMIs for mixing/compounding equipment
• Support troubleshooting of control systems, drives, and instrumentation to reduce downtime.

• 2+ years’ experience with control systems in a manufacturing environment
