Job summary

Continental’s ContiTech division seeks a hands-on automation professional to assist in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs for mixing/compounding equipment. You will collaborate on installations, improve processes, and learn safety standards in a structured manufacturing setting.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering or related field, 2+ years of experience, and willingness to work nights/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years' experience with control systems in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of PLCs, Allen Bradley, Siemens.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics and industrial networks.
• Willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Siemens PLCs and HMIs.
• Support troubleshooting of control systems, drives, and instrumentation.
• Maintain documentation of control programs and wiring diagrams.
• Collaborate with engineers on equipment installations and process improvements.
• Learn and apply safety standards and company policies.
• Support capital spending projects and implementations of new equipment.
• Assist and support the implementation of Factory Talk and other automation software.
• Work with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement projects.
• Support and train maintenance technicians.
• Support TPOC, Gemba, and 5S programs.
• Training and coaching on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Camline, Iconics, WiriTec, among others, depending on the implementation package.

Job Description

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Assist in programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Siemens PLCs and HMIs for mixing/compounding equipment


• Support troubleshooting of control systems, drives, and instrumentation to reduce downtime.


• Help maintain documentation of control programs and wiring diagrams.


• Collaborate with engineers on equipment installations and process improvements.


• Learn and apply safety standards and company policies in all tasks.


• Support capital spending projects and implementations of new equipment


• Assist and support the implementation of Factory Talk and other automation software

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation, Controls Automation, mechatronics, or related engineering field


• 2+ years' experience with control systems in a manufacturing environment


• Working knowledge of electrical schematics and industrial networks


• Knowledge of PLCs, Allen Bradley, Siemens


• Strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment


• Knowledge of industrial safety standards


• Good communication and teamwork skills


• Willing to work on equipment and support the production and maintenance teams


• Demonstrated competency in basic use of hand tools, including multimeters


• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite


• The ability to work support nights and weekend shifts as needed
