Job summary

A Quality Facility Services (AQFS) is seeking a hands-on Controller to own day-to-day accounting in a growing company in Canton, Ohio. You will lead full-cycle accounting and collaborate with leadership to shape the financial direction.

This role offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 from home), competitive base pay with incentives, 401(k) match, health insurance, and PTO. You will directly influence financial strategy and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience.
• Excellent Excel and accounting skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the company's day-to-day accounting operations.
• Manage full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, general ledger, and reconciliations.
• Lead the month-end close and financial reporting process.
• Support cash management, budgeting, and financial planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiency.
• Provide accurate financial information and insight to leadership.
• Take ownership of accounting projects and initiatives.

What You’ll Do

This is a hands‑on position. We're looking for someone who is comfortable both thinking strategically and getting into the details.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience
• Strong Excel and accounting skills
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Able to work independently and take ownership
• Comfortable being the primary internal accounting professional
• Strong communication skills
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• Public accounting or CPA firm experience is a plus
