A Bit About Us

We are seeking a seasoned, dynamic, and results-driven Controller to lead our Accounting and Finance department. This is a remote position that allows you to collaborate with our team from anywhere. As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of our organization. This includes the preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. You will be a key member of our leadership team and will be instrumental in driving the financial performance of our company.

IFRS reporting, handling multiple P&L's concurrently, and handling M&A activity are HUGE pluses for this role!

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Oversee all company accounts and investments.
• Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants.
• Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
• Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
• Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
• Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports.
• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
• Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies.
• Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
• Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information.
• Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred).
• Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CPA).
• 5+ years of proven accounting experience.
• Professional accounting certification, including CMA, CGA, or CA.
• Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP).
• Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
• Strong understanding of business principles and practices.
• Superior attention to detail; organizational and planning skills; analytical and problem-solving skills; team player; and excellent communication skills.
• Experience with creating financial statements and knowledge of legal and company accounting regulations.
• Experience in managing budgets, financial reporting, data analysis, and management of financial systems and budgets.
• Strong mathematical and computing skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to direct and supervise.
