We are seeking a seasoned, dynamic, and results-driven Controller to lead our Accounting and Finance department. This is a remote position that allows you to collaborate with our team from anywhere. As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of our organization, including the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and forecasts for future growth and economic outlook. You will be a key member of our leadership team and will be instrumental in driving the company’s financial performance.

Experience with IFRS reporting, managing multiple P&L's, and M&A activity are highly desirable!

Responsibilities

• Oversee all company accounts and investments.
• Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants.
• Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing feedback.
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
• Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with regulations.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance.
• Develop budgets and financial plans based on research and data reports.
• Review financial plans and budgets regularly for cost reduction opportunities.
• Examine financial reports for discrepancies.
• Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
• Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information.
• Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
• Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CPA).
• 5+ years of proven accounting experience.
• Knowledge of finance law and standards (GAAP).
• Understanding of economic and banking processes.
• Strong business principles and practices knowledge.
• Attention to detail; organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; team player; excellent communication skills.
• Experience with financial statements and legal/regulatory accounting standards.
• Experience managing budgets, reporting, data analysis, and financial systems.
• Strong mathematical and computing skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to supervise and direct teams.
