Family Life Academy Charter Schools seeks a Controller to supervise daily accounting operations under the CFO. The role manages month-end close, payroll administration, and audits, ensuring GAAP compliance within a nonprofit framework.

Collaboration across departments supports accurate reporting and strong internal controls. The candidate should hold a BS/BA in Accounting, with NY CPA preferred, and have 3+ years of nonprofit or charter school accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• Active New York State CPA license strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years accounting/finance experience in nonprofit or charter school setting.
• Experience with GAAP for nonprofits and regulatory requirements; proficiency in major accounting software and payroll systems.

Responsabilités

• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and reconcile collections.
• Maintain accurate general ledger and lead month-end/quarterly/year-end closes.
• Prepare financial statements for management and Board; develop reports for regulatory entities.
• Lead internal controls formulation and ensure policy compliance.
