Job summary

JAC Metal Building Contractors, LLC is seeking a dependable Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and support intentional company growth.

A major requirement for this position is direct experience working with a multi-state company, including payroll, benefits administration, unemployment taxes, audits, and related compliance requirements across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Proven accounting leadership experience at a controller/senior bookkeeping level.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, budgeting, and cash flow.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and stay hands-on when needed.
• Oversee, support, and develop the Bookkeeper and Accounts Payable Specialist.
• Work directly with the CFO on financial reporting, budgets, cash flow, forecasting, and department priorities.
• Review financial statements, general ledger activity, reconciliations, job costing, billing records and entries for accuracy.
• Strengthen internal controls, approval workflows, documentation habits, and accountability across accounting processes.
• Support billing, payroll-related records, vendor records, job-cost documentation, and general accounting administration as needed.
• Provide support for multi-state payroll, benefits-related records, unemployment taxes, audits, registrations, and compliance documentation.
• Assess whether the Billing and Payroll Assistant role should be filled or absorbed through improved structure and processes.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with company, financial, vendor, and employee information.
• Identify practical process improvements to support accuracy, accountability, and long-term financial health.
