GIZLI is seeking an accomplished Controller to oversee the financial operations across real estate development, fitness, operating entities and investments in Florida. The role emphasizes hands-on project accounting, vendor relations, and multi-entity reporting.

You will manage day-to-day accounting for multiple LLCs, drive month-end close, and collaborate with external CPAs to ensure US GAAP compliance. The ideal candidate combines advanced accounting expertise with entrepreneurial adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting for multiple LLCs and operating entities, including general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and manage month-end/year-end close.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and investments.
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity across entities.
• Create, analyze, and present management reports and financial analyses.
• Coordinate audits and tax submissions with external CPAs, ensuring US GAAP compliance.
• Maintain schedules and documentation, track capital contributions, draws, loans, and project financing.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, invoicing, payments, and monitor project commitments.
• Assist with formation of new LLCs and intercompany transactions.

We are in search of an accomplished Controller to oversee and enhance the financial operations of a dynamic portfolio encompassing real estate development projects, Fitness company, operational enterprises, and investment entities. This pivotal role involves executing the day-to-day accounting functions while establishing the groundwork for future team expansion. The ideal candidate will possess a robust combination of advanced accounting expertise and substantial hands-on experience in project accounting, vendor relations, cash management, and multi-entity financial reporting.

The selected candidate will lead comprehensive accounting functions for multiple LLCs and operating entities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Oversee full-cycle accounting for multiple LLCs and operating entities, including the maintenance of comprehensive general ledger and accounting records.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while managing month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and investment accounts.
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity requirements across multiple entities, ensuring thorough financial oversight.
• Create, analyze, and present management reports and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax submissions with external CPA firms, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Maintain detailed supporting schedules, accounting documentation, and track capital contributions, draws, loans, and project financing.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment schedules, and ensure timely vendor payments while monitoring project-related financial commitments.
• Assist with the formation and establishment of new LLCs, coordinate state registrations, maintain corporate compliance records, and manage intercompany transactions.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically managing multiple legal entities.
• Strong proficiency in US GAAP.
• Proven expertise in month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
• Experience administering accounts payable and cash management functions.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate autonomously within a rapidly evolving entrepreneurial environment.

Preferred

• Background in real estate development, construction, or property investment.
• Knowledge of Florida LLCs and regional compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting small to mid-sized growth-oriented businesses.
• Familiarity with retail, e-commerce, distribution, or warehouse operations.
• Experience in inventory accounting and cost of goods sold (COGS) management.
• Strong collaborative experience with external CPA firms and audit teams.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
• CPA designation is a plus, but not mandatory.

Systems Experience

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is essential
• Experience with SAP is highly desirable
• Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel is required
• Familiarity with financial reporting and business intelligence tools is beneficial
