Job summary

Élan Partners in Dallas seeks an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations across multiple entities for a growing transportation company. You will oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and a small accounting team, reporting directly to executive leadership and ownership partners.

The ideal candidate brings strong GAAP knowledge, multi-entity experience, and a proven ability to improve processes while maintaining accuracy and compliance, including excise tax

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience as Controller/Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager with financial reporting responsibility.
• Background in high-transaction-volume environments with multi-entity accounting.
• Experience with federal or state excise taxes, including credits and exemptions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, GL accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Manage daily cash flow, forecasting, liquidity, and accounts payable approvals.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, delegate responsibilities and ensure accurate reporting.
• Oversee revenue accounting, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reporting packages for executives and owners.
• Oversee federal and state tax compliance, including excise taxes, credits, and exemptions.
• Manage accounting related to aircraft owner statements, revenue allocations, and deposits.
• Oversee payroll‑related accounting, commissions, and reconciliations.
• Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to improve processes.
