Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience as Controller/Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager with financial reporting responsibility.
• Background in high-transaction-volume environments with multi-entity accounting.
• Experience with federal or state excise taxes, including credits and exemptions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, GL accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Manage daily cash flow, forecasting, liquidity, and accounts payable approvals.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, delegate responsibilities and ensure accurate reporting.
• Oversee revenue accounting, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reporting packages for executives and owners.
• Oversee federal and state tax compliance, including excise taxes, credits, and exemptions.
• Manage accounting related to aircraft owner statements, revenue allocations, and deposits.
• Oversee payroll‑related accounting, commissions, and reconciliations.
• Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to improve processes.

Seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for an established, growing transportation company. This position will oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and accounting operations across multiple business entities while leading a small experienced accounting team.

The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, experience managing complex financial operations, and the ability to effectively delegate while maintaining accountability for financial accuracy and reporting. This highly visible position works directly with executive leadership and ownership partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager with responsibility for financial reporting and accounting operations.
• Background in high-transaction-volume environments with multi-entity accounting and reporting.
• Experience with federal or state excise taxes, including credits and exemptions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial statements, and month-end close.
• Experience managing accounting activities across multiple business entities.
• Demonstrated experience with cash flow management, forecasting, and accounts payable oversight.
• Proven ability to lead an accounting team, delegate effectively, and improve processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work directly with executive leadership.

• Experience in fuel distribution, transportation, aviation, logistics, or another industry with complex accounting requirements.
