The Controller will oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, inventory controls, payroll, and compliance. This role will partner with executive leadership to improve financial performance, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee cost accounting, standard costing, job costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, treasury, and working capital activities.
- Supervise billing, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reconciliations.
- Maintain inventory and fixed asset controls, including cycle counts and depreciation schedules.
- Coordinate annual external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Prepare financial analyses, management reports, and performance metrics for executive leadership.
- Partner with operations to improve manufacturing efficiency, profitability, and cost controls.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting and finance team.
- Identify financial risks and implement process improvements across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing finance or accounting experience.
- Strong cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis skills.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems; Epicor experience is highly desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing accounting or finance teams.
- Knowledge of treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and working capital.
CPA designation and manufacturing continuous improvement experience are preferred.
