Job summary

Third Wave Business Systems, part of Pine Services Group, is seeking a Controller to lead accounting across multiple entities and support a major ERP implementation. The role demands strong technical accounting skills and a hands-on leader who can build processes from the ground up in a private equity-backed environment.

You will own month-end close, audits, treasury, and reporting, and collaborate with Pine Services Group to align group reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field is required.
• Active or recently active CPA license, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with people leadership.
• Demonstrated ownership of month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, incl. ASC 606 revenue and cost recognition.
• Experience with mid-market ERP systems such as Business Central or Acumatica.
• Advanced Excel skills with executive-ready reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting operations across multiple lines of business and consolidated reporting.
• Lead the month-end close with focus on accuracy, timeliness, and process improvement.
• Oversee annual audits, general ledger, treasury, AR, billing, and AP.
• Lead, develop, and support a small accounting team.
• Deliver monthly reporting package with financial statements and variance commentary.
• Lead ERP transition, data flows, system setup, and integration with group reporting.
• Partner with Pine Services Group accounting team on audits, capex, sales tax, and consolidation.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen systems, controls, and reporting as the business scales.
