Job summary

The firm seeks a hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls. This is a growth-minded, fast-paced environment where strategic decision-making is valued.

The role requires an active CPA (or CPA track) and 7+ years in accounting leadership, with experience in trust/IOLTA accounting, case-cost tracking, and ERP systems such as NetSuite. On-site in Northwest Miami-Dade; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license strongly preferred, but CPA track candidates will also be considered.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with leadership in Controller/Accounting Manager roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management and internal controls.
• Experience leading accounting teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms is a huge plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish and experience supporting a multi-office organization are a plus.

• Partner with firm leadership and external advisors to support growth, profitability, and financial strategy.
• Maintain compliance with government agencies.
• Act as the point of contact for external auditors.
• Maintain internal books and finances; analyze financial transactions.

The Controller will serve as a key member of the leadership team, overseeing the law firm's accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and overall financial health. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a track record of managing complex financial operations within a professional services or similarly sophisticated business environment. Experience with trust/IOLTA accounting, settlement disbursements, case cost tracking, and financial controls is highly valued. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the firm's continued growth while ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency.

KEY Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership experience within a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager capacity.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
• Experience leading and developing accounting teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms a huge plus.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills, with the ability to develop meaningful reports, dashboards, and business insights.
• Experience within a professional services environment, including trust/IOLTA accounting, settlement accounting, or case-cost accounting, is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Bilingual English/Spanish and experience supporting a multi-office organization are a plus.
