ALPS in Missoula, MT is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the finance function, partner with the CFO, and guide financial strategy and capital management. This in-office role focuses on GAAP and statutory reporting, compliance, and steering M&A activity with scalable processes.

You will build and mentor a high-performing team while delivering actionable insights to executive leadership and supporting growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Statutory accounting knowledge and GAAP proficiency.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and planning.

We2821re seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to join our Finance team in Missoula, Montana. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives at the intersection of financial stewardship, business strategy, and organizational growth.

As Controller, you will partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to oversee the company7s financial operations, reporting, planning, compliance, and capital management activities. You7ll play a critical role in guiding financial decision-making, supporting mergers and acquisitions, and building scalable processes that position ALPS for continued success.

This full-time, in-office position offers a starting salary of $150,000 annually in addition to a robust benefits package.

What You7ll Do:

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely GAAP and statutory (SAP) reporting, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
• Oversee cash management, investments, capital planning, and reinsurance-related financial activities.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights that support strategic business decisions.
• Support mergers and acquisitions, including financial due diligence, transaction analysis, and post-acquisition integration.
• Drive finance systems, process improvements, and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
