Job summary

Producers Cooperative, headquartered in Bryan, TX, seeks an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The role supports executive management with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and policy development.

You will lead a team, collaborate with department leaders, and ensure timely, accurate financial records across the organization in a member-owned cooperative setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5–7 years progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with standards.
• Manage month-end and year-end closes, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, tax obligations, and applicable financial regulations.
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and related reviews.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff.
• Provide financial insight to department leaders and executives with inventory and operational support.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
