Job summary

GNR has identified an experienced Finance Controller for a well-established defense organization with corporate HQ on the MD/DC border. This on-site leadership role reports to the Corporate CFO and oversees a small team managing approximately $400M in financials.

The position offers visibility and career growth; a path to ERP upgrades in 2027, and a competitive package with 100% medical coverage. Bethesda, MD area; 4 days in office with Fridays work from home.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of Finance/Accounting leadership experience.
• Defense & Gov’t Finance experience (FAR/DFARS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all financials and collaborate with the Executive team on findings.
• Collect and generate monthly, quarterly & annual reporting.
• Lead government compliance and regulatory standards (GAAP).
• Improve financial policies & procedures for ERP infrastructure leading to 2027 upgrade.

GNR has been retained to identify an experienced FINANCE CONTROLLER for this well-established 50+ year-old DEFENSE organization for Corporate headquarters in the MD / DC border region.

We’re searching for a “Hands-On” & "ON-SITE" Finance leader with a solid Accounting background and the leadership skills to manage and grow a small team.

This position offers visibility and career growth within the organization, reporting directly to the Corporate CFO, you will analyze all financial data from multiple sites = approx. $400M.

• Manage all financials and collaborate with the Executive team on findings; budgeting, gov’t surveys, forecasting, internal controls, accurate billing & timely invoices.
• Collect and generate monthly, quarterly & annual reporting.
• Lead & ensure that government compliance and regulatory standards are met (GAAP)
• In preparation for additional growth, build a better infrastructure by improving financial policies & procedures because a new ERP system is expected in 2027.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRES:

• Bachelor’s degree w/ 8+ years of solid Finance / Accounting leadership experience
• A strong preference for anyone with Defense & Gov’t Finance (FAR / DFARs)
