Job summary

Albertus Magnus College seeks a Controller reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. You will lead the Finance Office, supervise four staff members, and ensure accurate financial reporting, controls, and compliance.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree with advanced credentials (MBA/MAcc/CPA preferred) and 10+ years of progressive finance leadership in higher education or nonprofit settings. Hybrid work is available after intro period.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of GAAP and higher education regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication with leadership across the college.
• Experience leading a finance team and managing cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all functions of the Finance Office and staff of 4.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and tax filings.
• Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and prepare schedules.
• Manage budget development, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure internal controls, policies, and chart of accounts are up to date.
• Liaise with the VPFA on financial strategy and reporting to stakeholders.
