Job summary

Glocap Search is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead day-to-day and month-end accounting activities, with direct reporting to the Head of Accounting. This role will review junior staff, serve as the primary escalation point, and drive improvements across controls and systems.

Key duties include NAV oversight, investor reporting, complex fee calculations, annual audits, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Compliance, and Legal.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and hedge fund accounting.
• Experience reviewing complex fee calculations, allocations, and financial reporting.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior accounting staff.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead key aspects of the day-to-day and month-end accounting activities. The role reports directly to the Head of Accounting, will provide day-to-day work direction and technical review of junior team members, and will serve as a primary point of review and escalation before deliverables reach the Head of Accounting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting operations, including NAV oversight, investment valuations, expense allocations, and investor reporting
• Manage the relationship with the fund administrator and ensure accurate, timely deliverables
• Review management fee, incentive fee, and partner allocation calculations
• Supervise and mentor junior fund accounting team members
• Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
• Oversee fund tax reporting and work with external tax advisors on K-1s and related filings
• Partner with Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Corporate Accounting on cross-functional initiatives
• Ensure compliance with fund governing documents and applicable accounting standards
• Drive process improvements and enhance accounting systems and controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred)
• CPA required
• 7–10 years of accounting experience with a hedge fund, fund administrator, or Big 4/public accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and hedge fund accounting
• Experience reviewing complex fee calculations, allocations, and financial reporting
• Prior experience managing or mentoring junior team members
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
