Job summary

gpac LLC is seeking a Controller for a Commercial Construction project in Chicago, IL. You will lead accounting and financial reporting for the firm and manage job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition on active projects.

The role offers visibility into a potential CFO track and requires 5+ years of construction accounting experience, with strong software skills in Viewpoint Vista or Sage 300 CRE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA a plus.
• 5+ years accounting experience; some in Controller/Assistant Controller in construction.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Experience with construction accounting software such as Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300 CRE, or Foundation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, month-end close, and financial statements.
• Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition on construction projects.
• Lead billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll oversight, and certified payroll where applicable.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting for leadership.
• Coordinate audits, taxes, bonding, insurance, and lender reporting.
• Supervise and develop the accounting team.
