Job summary

Areté seeks an experienced Controller to lead its accounting organization at the Northridge, CA office. You will oversee accounting, financial reporting, payroll/timekeeping, and billing, ensuring full ASC 606, FAR, DFARS, and DCAA compliance.

You will manage a mid-sized team, drive GAAP close, and coordinate tax and reporting for diverse funding structures while maintaining strong internal controls and ESOP accounting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• GovCon/A&D sector experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ESOP accounting is a plus.
• Proven expertise in applying ASC 606 in project-based contracts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end and year-end close with GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Supervise a mid-sized accounting team including managers and staff.
• Maintain internal financial controls to mitigate risk.
• Direct DCAA/DCMA audit readiness and FAR compliance.
