The ideal candidate has GAAP expertise, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment. CPA or advanced finance credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum one year of hospital or non-governmental accounting experience, or two years of public/private accounting experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, formulas, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and financial reporting.
• Prepare month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and Board reports.
• Coordinate annual operating and capital budgets.
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with audits, Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee Accounts Payable processes and supervise the Accounts Payable Specialist.
• Monitor cash management, contractual allowances, bad debt, and other financial analyses.
• Support chargemaster reviews and reimbursement-related activities.
• Perform CFO duties in the CFO's absence.

Salary Range: $72,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

Memorial Hospital, a rural Critical Access Hospital, is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting support, audit preparation, and financial analysis. This position works closely with the CFO and serves as a key member of the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and financial reporting.
• Prepare month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and Board reports.
• Coordinate annual operating and capital budgets.
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with audits, Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee Accounts Payable processes and supervise the Accounts Payable Specialist.
