Controller – Service Industry (Dallas, TX)

Hybrid position. Salary: $160,000–$170,000 + 25% bonus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
• Manage and review accounting operations, including accounts receivable collections, payables processing, and revenue recognition.
• Partner with business unit leadership to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial goals.
• Maintain a robust internal control environment and ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive performance improvements and operational efficiency.
• Support external audit activities and coordinate required documentation.
• Collaborate with sales and project teams on pricing, contract, and customer financial matters.
• Lead and mentor accounting team members, balancing hands‑on involvement with effective delegation.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested by leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting or financial leadership experience, with construction industry exposure highly desirable.
• Proven experience managing a controller organization within a multi-entity or multi-location structure.
• Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Microsoft D365 preferred.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities with a collaborative mindset.
• Demonstrated business acumen, operational understanding, and commercial literacy.
• Ability to produce accurate, detailed reports and meet deadlines consistently.
