Job summary

Leeds Professional Resources seeks an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function at our West Palm Beach operation. You will own financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls while partnering with leadership on forecasting and profitability across projects.

You will oversee project accounting, job costing, and ERP systems, providing strategic financial oversight and building scalable processes to support growth in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's in accounting/finance or related field.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience.
• Construction industry experience with project accounting and job costing.
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting and GL.
• Strong internal controls and accounting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP systems experience.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function including financial reporting, month-end close, GL, controls, and audit support.
• Provide financial oversight of construction projects, including costs, profitability, forecasts, and KPIs.
• Partner with leadership on FP&A, cash flow, and business performance.
• Ensure compliance and robust accounting controls across the organization.
• Improve accounting processes and financial systems to support growth.
• Provide leadership to the accounting team and act as a financial resource to the business.

• Lead the accounting function, including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, controls, and audit support.
• Provide financial oversight of construction projects, including costs, profitability, forecasts, and other key performance metrics.
• Partner with leadership on financial planning, analysis, cash flow, and overall business performance.
• Ensure appropriate accounting practices, documentation, compliance, and controls across the organization.
• Improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial systems to support an efficient and scalable operation.
• Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team while serving as a financial resource to the broader business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Construction industry experience with strong knowledge of project accounting and job costing required.
• Experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Demonstrated experience improving accounting processes or financial systems.
• CPA preferred.
