Job summary

Clark Davis Associates seeks a Controller to lead our accounting function and partner with Finance on strategy and scaling. You will own the close, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, manage tax, audits, and controls, and drive process improvements.

You will guide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with FP&A, turning data into concise executive narratives and presentations. Build a strong accounting team and support potential acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance required; MBA a plus; CPA strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years progressive accounting experience; 5+ years leading finance/accounting teams.
• Regulated industry experience (manufacturing/diagnostics/pharma) preferred.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, revenue recognition, inventory accounting, controls.
• Strong ERP and reporting skills; Excel, PowerPoint, and ideally Power BI.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring GAAP-compliant financial statements and accurate reporting across the organization
• Lead tax compliance (federal, state, local, sales/use) and manage external audits, internal controls, and audit readiness
• Drive working capital initiatives — DSO improvement, inventory turns, treasury/cash forecasting — and oversee AP, AR, and fixed assets
• Partner with FP&A and department leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
• Turn financial data into clear executive narratives and leadership-ready presentations
• Lead ERP optimization, automation, and finance process modernization
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting team, coaching talent and establishing strong succession planning
• Support due diligence and integration for potential acquisitions

What you bring:

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (MBA a plus); CPA strongly preferred
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years leading finance/accounting teams
• Background in a regulated industry (manufacturing, medical devices, diagnostics, pharma, or similar) strongly preferred
