Job summary

Prototek is seeking a Controller with 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience to drive financial close, inventory valuation, and standard costing. You will analyze variances, support audits, and report to leadership, partnering with operations to improve processes and controls.

The role requires CPA (preferred), a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, and strong ERP/Excel skills to manage cost accounting and financial reporting in a hybrid onsite environment.

Qualifications

• CPA required (Strongly Preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and standard costing
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights to business leaders

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, and reconciliations
• Analyze manufacturing variances including labor, material, overhead, and PPV
• Assist with annual audits, inventory observations, and audit support schedules
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting accuracy
• Support standard costing processes, cost roll-ups, BOM validation, and inventory controls
• Partner with plant leadership to improve operational and financial processes
• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP

QUICK SUMMARY

As our Controller, you'll play a key role in understanding what drives manufacturing performance-from inventory accuracy and standard costing to margin analysis and financial reporting. You'll work closely with both finance and operations leaders to ensure our business has the information needed to make smart decisions.
