Job summary

Katalyst Group seeks an experienced Controller to lead core accounting operations for a growth-focused healthcare business. The role partners with executive leadership to build a robust financial foundation, with emphasis on inventory accounting, manufacturing finance, and scalable processes.

The ideal candidate will oversee monthly closes, balance sheet integrity, audits, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and procurement to ensure accurate reporting and strategic decision

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience as Controller or Assistant Controller in a complex operating environment.
  • Strong inventory accounting experience required.
  • Experience in manufacturing/pharma/healthcare inventory-intensive environments preferred.
  • Proven ability to work across accounting and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Own balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and overall accounting accuracy
  • Manage core controllership functions including AP, AR, accruals, and general accounting oversight
  • Drive improvements in inventory accounting, inventory controls, and inventory management processes
  • Partner with procurement and operations to improve system inputs, outputs, and reporting accuracy
  • Support and improve PO, receiving, and accrual workflows, including received-but-not-invoiced reporting
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, cost of goods issues, and balance sheet abnormalities
  • Lead external audit activities and serve as a primary point of contact for auditors

Travel: ~10% travel, primarily during onboarding and for occasional site visits

Compensation: $180,000–$190,000 base + 15–20% bonus

Our client is a rapidly growing healthcare company focused on wellness and anti-aging products. The business has evolved significantly and is scaling quickly, with major expansion underway, including a new state-of-the-art facility and plans to significantly increase production capacity.

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, operationally minded Controller to lead core accounting operations and build a strong financial foundation for a fast-changing, growth-stage business. This person will partner closely with executive leadership.

The ideal candidate brings strong inventoryaccounting and manufacturing-orientedfinance experience, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and procurement. This role requires someone who wants to understand how the business runs and can translate operational reality into accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Own balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and overall accounting accuracy
  • Manage core controllership functions including AP, AR, accruals, and general accounting oversight
  • Drive improvements in inventory accounting, inventory controls, and inventory management processes
  • Partner with procurement and operations to improve system inputs, outputs, and reporting accuracy

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
  • Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a complex operating environment
  • Strong experience with inventoryaccounting required
  • Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other inventory-intensive environments strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to work across accounting and operations
  • Experience leading audits and working directly with external auditors
  • Strong systems aptitude and comfort learning new enterprise / inventory platforms
Preferred Background
  • Manufacturing finance experience
  • Healthcare experience in settings where inventory is a core part of the business
  • Experience supporting high-growth or operational transformation environments
  • Experience managing remote and/or offshore teams
  • Base salary in the $180,000–$190,000 range, with flexibility depending on experience
