LeoForce is seeking a Permanent Controller to join its Accounting + Finance team in New York. This senior role requires a track record of managing all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining internal controls.

A strong background in regulatory reporting and monthly closes is essential. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, proficiency in QuickBooks, and a CPA or advanced degree as a plus.

Job Details

Our dynamic and rapidly expanding company is seeking a driven and experienced Permanent Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This role is integral to the financial health and growth of our organization, and we are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of financial regulations and laws, and a passion for maintaining the financial integrity of a company. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and be proficient in QuickBooks and Monthly Reporting.

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Managing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Supporting month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Collaborating with the management team to understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
3. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
4. Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices.
5. Proficiency with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
6. Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
7. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
8. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
9. An ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
10. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
11. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
