Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, cost accounting, internal controls, and compliance to ensure the organization’s fiscal integrity. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures, and a proven ability to drive process improvements and financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cost accounting.
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking.
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning in collaboration with executive leadership.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements and tax filings.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets.
Manage audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
Analyze financial performance, key metrics, and manufacturing variances to provide actionable insights.
Partner with operations and supply chain to optimize production efficiency and cost control.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and high performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
CPA certification strongly preferred.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems.
Proficiency with financial software and advanced Excel skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, streamline processes, and implement financial best practices.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
