Vaco, partnering with a growing company north of Hartford, is seeking a hands-on Controller who collaborates with executive leadership to drive accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. You will oversee month-end close, manage AP/AR/payroll, prepare statements, and perform cost and profitability analysis to support strategic decisions.

This role expects leadership of the accounting team, compliance with multi-state tax filings, and continuous process improvements in a dynamic

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience in accounting or controllership with progressively increasing responsibility.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close.
• Construction or project-based industry experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and daily accounting operations.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Perform cost accounting, job costing, profitability analysis, and commission calculations.
• Manage multi-state sales & use tax filings and 1099 reporting.
• Partner with the CFO on financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team while ensuring strong segregation of duties.

This role is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and providing financial analysis that supports strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
