This hands-on leadership role combines strong technical accounting with process improvement, team development, and strategic partnership with company leadership.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow and support working-capital management.
  • Maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate annual audits with external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reporting.
  • Partner with leadership on financial analysis and business decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team.

Vetted Talent Group is partnering with a growing organization in the Sharon, PA area to identify an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accounting professional who can oversee the day-to-day accounting function while also providing meaningful financial insight to company leadership. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting skills with the ability to improve processes, develop a team, and operate as a trusted business partner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the company's day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Manage general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Monitor cash flow and support working-capital management
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate annual audits and work with external accounting and tax partners
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting
  • Partner with executive leadership on financial analysis and business decisions
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Progressive accounting experience with prior leadership or Controller-level responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing month-end close and preparing financial statements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both strategically and hands-on within the accounting function
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with operational and executive leadership

CPA and/or prior experience within a manufacturing or similarly complex operating environment is a plus.
