Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is seeking a hands‑on Controller for nonprofit clients. You will serve as outsourced Controller/CFO, guiding financial reporting, controls, and grant management while interacting with Boards and Finance Committees.

The role supports a hybrid environment with a 35‑hour standard work week and strong benefits. Ideal candidates have nonprofit accounting expertise, leadership skills, and a CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; nonprofit experience preferred.
  • CPA preferred; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as outsourced Controller for multiple nonprofit clients.
  • Financial reporting for management and board decisions.
  • Recommend improvements to accounting, operations, controls, and policies.
  • Handle accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations, month-end close, and workpapers.
  • Analyze data, budget/forecast, grant management, and funder reporting.
  • Prepare for annual audits.
  • Provide client and staff training.

We are looking foradedicated, personable, hands-onControllerseeking a dynamic opportunity to guide our clients and providetransformative accounting services.Successful candidates must be comfortableworkingwith multiple clients both virtually and on-site.TheControllerwill interact with clients, their staff, Board ofDirectors,and Finance Committees on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients. Your responsibilities would include:

  • Transforming nonprofitclientfinancial departmentstohelp themmeettheir mission!
  • Financialreporting foremangement andBoarddecisionmakingand presentations
  • Recommendingandimplementingimprovements toaccounting, operations, internal controls,andcompliancepolicies andprocedures,supportingclient strategyand best practices
  • Transactionalactivitiesincluding accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing),andpayroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close,andmaintainingworkpapers
  • Analysisand datavisualization, budgeting andforecasting
  • Grant management, allocations, and funder reporting
  • Prepare for and manage annual audit
  • Client and staff training opportunities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience required; Recent nonprofit accounting experience, strongly preferred
  • Passion for supporting nonprofit organizations and their missions
  • Demonstrated expertise in nonprofit accounting, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Proven ability to serve as a trusted advisor, proactively identify issues, and recommend solutions
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills, with the confidence to lead conversations and influence outcomes
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, work independently, and thrive in a hybrid environment
  • Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with multiple general ledger systems, particularly QuickBooks, and electronic bill payment platforms
  • Public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience preferred
  • CPA certification is a plus
  • Bilingual-English/Spanish a plus

Starting annual base salary is $100,000 to $135,000 based on a 35-hour work week for this non-exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided on an annual basis. Please note that the base salary offered may vary depending on relevant factors as determined by Your Part-Time Controller, LLC, which may include, but is not limited to, education, skill, experience, licensure and certifications, internal salary ranges, geographical location, and other business needs.
