Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience in Controller/Accounting manager roles.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting proficiency.
  • Extensive inventory accounting experience required.
  • ERP systems experience; NetSuite is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily activities of the accounting department and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff to foster accountability and growth.
  • Manage full close cycle with timely, accurate execution.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliations, and cost tracking.
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts and reconciliations are reviewed timely.
  • Coordinate annual audit readiness and liaise with external auditors.
  • Develop and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Job description

A rapidly growing organization is seeking a skilled Controller to oversee all accounting operations and help scale a high-performing finance function. This leadership role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys balancing strategic oversight with hands‑on execution in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Controller will direct financial reporting, manage the month‑end and year‑end close processes, lead audit activities, strengthen internal controls, and support operational decision‑making across the business. The position also provides an opportunity to develop and mentor a talented accounting team while driving process improvements that support continued organizational growth.

What You'll Do
  • Direct the daily activities of the accounting department and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related reporting activities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering accountability and professional growth.
  • Manage the full close cycle, ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounting activities.
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliations, cost tracking, cut‑off procedures, and ledger accuracy.
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts and key financial reconciliations are completed and reviewed on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate annual audit readiness efforts and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
  • Evaluate customer, supplier, and business agreements to identify accounting considerations and financial obligations.
  • Assess contractual terms and determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Partner with operational leaders across the organization to analyze transactions, resolve accounting matters, and support business initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, scalability, and financial accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Extensive inventory accounting experience is required.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex business agreements and apply appropriate accounting guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and close management.
  • Background leading external audits and coordinating annual audit activities.
  • Successful track record of managing and developing accounting team members.
  • Experience working within ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to transition effectively between strategic leadership and detailed accounting work.
