Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, SOX compliance, and non-profit accounting practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero is essential.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for governmental or non-profit organizations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the preparation of financial statements in IFRS/GAAP.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis for data accuracy.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing, including general ledger accounting.
• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and ensure compliance.
• Oversee cash management, forecasting, liquidity, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure SOX controls and other relevant regulatory standards are followed.
• Prepare detailed financial reports to support budgeting and strategic decisions.
• Implement and maintain Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero to streamline operations.
• Support internal and coordinate external audits as needed.
• Lead technical accounting projects involving payroll and double-entry.

Duties

• Manage and oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and compliance with regulations.
• Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, liquidity management, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory standards relevant to governmental or non-profit accounting.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making and budgeting processes.
• Implement and maintain accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero to streamline financial operations.
• Support internal audits and coordinate external audits as needed, ensuring adherence to all applicable standards.
• Lead efforts in technical accounting projects, including complex transactions involving payroll, debits & credits, and double entry bookkeeping.

Experience

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, SOX compliance, and non-profit accounting practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero is essential.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for governmental or non-profit organizations.
• Excellent understanding of financial concepts including account reconciliation, general ledger management, and technical accounting principles.
• Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
