Job summary

Synergy Search is seeking a Controller to lead full-cycle accounting and AR/collections in a hands-on role with potential path to CFO-level responsibilities. The position will supervise one Billing Clerk and requires strong billing discipline and process improvement ideas.

The ideal candidate has a background in professional services (engineering, accounting, consulting, or legal) and is tech-savvy with billing/accounting software experience. Hybrid work is considered for the right candidate.

A well-established professional services company with nearly (100 employees and been in business for over 30 years) is hiring a Controller to step into a high-visibility role with a direct path to Director of Finance and CFO level responsibility over time. This will be a hands on roll up your sleeves role supervising 1 individual.

What You'll Own

• Full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, GL, payroll, monthly financials
• Proactive AR management and client collections
• 401(k)/benefits administration and wire transfers for closings
• Lead an upcoming billing software evaluation and migration
