Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA is required; 8+ years accounting experience.
• Recent manufacturing or consumer products experience; 2+ years of financial audit and leadership.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, financial records, and internal controls to support accurate and timely reporting.
• Coordinate financial audit activities, prepare supporting documentation, and address accounting and reporting requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to accounting professionals while strengthening accountability and day-to-day accounting processes.
• Partner across the organization to resolve accounting matters, improve financial processes, and support reporting and special projects.

Job Overview – Controller

Compensation: $110,000–$130,000/year

Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Controller in Montgomery County, PA for our client, leading accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, audit coordination, and financial analysis within a growing manufacturing and consumer products environment. This role will oversee the accounting function, strengthen financial processes and controls, and partner with senior leadership on reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with recent manufacturing or consumer products experience, team leadership, and hands-on external audit management.

Responsibilities as the Controller

• Accounting Operations: Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close activities.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
• Accounting Controls: Maintain accounting policies, procedures, financial records, and internal controls to support accurate and timely reporting.
• Audit Support: Coordinate financial audit activities, prepare supporting documentation, and address accounting and reporting requirements.
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to accounting professionals while strengthening accountability and day-to-day accounting processes.
• Process Improvement: Partner across the organization to resolve accounting matters, improve financial processes, and support reporting and special projects.

Qualifications for the Controller

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Certification: CPA is required.
• Experience: 8+ years of progressive accounting experience is required, including 2+ years of financial audit experience and accounting leadership responsibilities.
• Industry Knowledge: Recent manufacturing or consumer products accounting experience is required, along with strong knowledge of US GAAP, general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system proficiency are required, with strong financial reporting and data analysis capabilities.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
