Job summary

Legends Global is seeking a Controller to assist the AGM of Business Administration in developing and implementing financial goals, budgeting, and payroll in line with state and federal law and company policies.

The role oversees internal controls, risk management, and financial systems, with responsibility for GAAP reporting, monthly and annual financial statements, and coordination of audits, cash flow management, and vendor contracts.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting from a four-year college or university.
  • At least 4 to 6 years' experience in public accounting and/or financial management.
  • CPA, MBA, or CMA certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and Legends Global policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement all financial reporting for operations according to GAAP, including: Prepare financial statements for the Client and Legends Global Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, annual budgets, and annual reports.
  • Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures, general ledger, accounts receivable, depreciation, cost, and operating expenses.
  • Coordinate preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; Implements recommendations of Client as requested.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.

Summary Under the direct supervision of the AGM of Business Administration, the Controller will assist in the development and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and Legends Global policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists in the development and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, general accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and Legends Global policies and procedures. Monitors Legends Global compliance with all provisions of the company's management contract Manage internal controls, risk management and financial systems to improve accuracy and prevent fraud. Maintains contact with Legends Global risk management department and insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverages Reviews contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires Reviews and/or prepares event settlements for all customers/events Reviews and executes checks, and deposits; reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements Monitors and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as needed Reviews all purchasing of office supplies and facility supplies Develop and implement all financial reporting for operations according to GAAP, including: Prepare financial statements for the Client and Legends Global Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, annual budgets, and annual reports Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures Direct the maintenance of general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records Analyze financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepares monthly financial statements, recommends appropriate actions/changes to meet business goals Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues Assist with the following tasks related to the facilities: Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls Coordinate preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; Implements recommendations of Client as requested Coordinates year-end report of fiscal performance for the General Manager's report Directs the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls Review financial statements with management personnel Participates in union labor contract administration; maintains effective working relationship with union representatives Acts as Manager on Duty as required Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

During daily facility operations, duties include responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the entire finance department. Directly supervises the entire Finance Department employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws.

Education and Experience

B. S. in Accounting from a four-year college or university. At least 4 to 6 years' experience in public accounting and/or financial management.

Skills and Abilities

Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required Strong leadership and management skills with managing a team of 4 or more team members Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Controller role with full cycle financial reporting responsibilities and finance department oversight.

Computer Skills

Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing software Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems desirable.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CPA, MBA, or CMA certification strongly preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities

Ability to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff including management Ability to work irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays. The ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines Must have professional attitude and appearance.
