Job summary

Jobot seeks a hands-on Controller in Parsippany, NJ to lead the accounting function and partner with leadership on financial strategy. You will own month-end and year-end closes, oversee AP/AR/payroll, and guide pricing and investment decisions.

You will manage budgeting, rolling forecasts, cash flow, cost accounting, and margin analysis while ensuring strong internal controls and audit readiness. This role reports to the CFO and supports growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, NetSuite, Sage or Dynamics).
• Strong Excel skills and hands-on leadership of a small team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a lean accounting team. Oversee AP, AR, and payroll while staying close to the details.
• Use the numbers to help leadership optimize pricing, investments, contracts, and growth.
• Own budgeting and forecasting. Build the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and margin analysis by product line and customer.
• Manage the annual audit and coordinate with the external CPA firm.
• Maintain internal controls, audit readiness, lender reporting, and debt covenant compliance.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership to understand drivers of margins and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Own the numbers. Lead the month-end and year-end close and deliver clear, accurate financials to the CFO and ownership.
• Lead a lean accounting team. Oversee AP, AR, and payroll while staying close enough to the details to jump in when needed.
• Be more than a close-and-report Controller. Use the numbers to help leadership make better decisions around pricing, investments, contracts, and growth.
• Own budgeting and forecasting. Build the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and cash flow projections and keep leadership ahead of what’s coming.
• Know where the money is going. Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and margin analysis, with a focus on profitability by product line and customer.
• Be the face of the audit. Manage the annual audit and partner directly with the outside CPA firm to keep everything moving.
• Keep the business financially buttoned up. Oversee internal controls, audit readiness, lender reporting, and debt covenant compliance.
• Partner with the business, not just Finance. Work closely with operations and leadership to understand what’s driving margins, costs, and overall performance.
• Have a seat at the table. Bring the financial perspective to day-to-day decisions and help improve the processes, reporting, and controls behind a growing business.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA preferred
• Minimum of 8 years of experience
• Experience with an ERP such as Epicor, NetSuite, Sage, or Dynamics
• Strong Excel
• Comfortable being hands on while leading a small team
