Job summary

Kforce, an established firm in the infrastructure industry, seeks an experienced Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations in North Reading, MA. This in‑office role reports to the President and collaborates with executive leadership, operations, and project management to drive financial performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of construction/project accounting experience; CPA preferred
• General contractor experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, WIP, and job cost accounting
• Construction accounting software experience required
• Sage 300/Timberline highly preferred; CMiC, Viewpoint, or Procore experience considered
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close and financial reporting
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
• Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and cost-to-complete reporting
• Oversee AP, AR, billing, collections, and banking
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Coordinate tax, financial, project, and insurance audits
• Partner with Project Managers on project financial performance
• Lead and develop accounting staff

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
