Job description

Controller
Location: Remote
Salary- $140k-170k base plus bonus
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function of a growing Technology Services company. Key responsibilities include financial reporting, NetSuite optimization, and M&A integration support.
Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Accounting Leadership:
  • Oversee the complete accounting cycle, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and policies, supporting audit readiness and compliance efforts.
  • Manage the general ledger, account reconciliations, and technical accounting memos.
• NetSuite Optimization & Process Improvement:
  • Own and continuously improve our NetSuite environment, focusing on automation, system configuration, and efficient end-to-end workflows.
  • Identify, design, and implement scalable process improvements across the finance function, ensuring data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and integrations with key third-party tools (e.g., PSA, CRM, expense, and billing platforms).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to maximize NetSuite functionality and align cross-functional processes.
• Integration & M&A Support:
  • Lead the finance workstream for acquisition integrations, including system migrations, data consolidation, chart of accounts alignment, and process unification.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to seamlessly integrate new business units or service lines into our financial infrastructure.
  • Provide support for due diligence, financial modeling, and post-close accounting activities.
• PE Reporting & Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Deliver comprehensive monthly financial packages, KPIs, and insightful ad hoc analysis for our private equity sponsors and executive leadership.
  • Serve as a collaborative business partner to operations, legal, HR, and technology teams.
• Compliance, Tax & Treasury:
  • Manage tax compliance, including sales and use tax, and oversee relationships with external tax advisors.
  • Support cash management, banking relationships, and treasury functions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification is required or strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• Deep, hands-on experience with NetSuite (or a similar ERP platform), including administration, workflow automation, and third-party integrations.
• Proven success in leading finance process redesign and system optimization initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience in integrating acquisitions or scaling finance functions within a high-growth environment.
• Solid understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles for services.
• Prior experience in private equity-backed companies or other fast-paced environments is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, a confident leadership presence, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with PSA systems (e.g., OpenAir, Kantata), CRM (e.g., Salesforce), or expense management tools.
• Exposure to international accounting practices and multi-entity consolidations.
