Job summary

Atlas Search in New York City is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function from its Midtown Manhattan office. This hands-on leadership role reports to the CEO and is responsible for building and scaling the accounting organization.

You will own the monthly close, manage intercompany processes across entities, and drive improvements in ERP and financial systems, including QuickBooks usage and AI-enabled automation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive corporate accounting with hands-on monthly close ownership.
• Experience in multi-entity and intercompany accounting.
• Real estate accounting experience preferred, incl. development and leasing.
• Previous managerial experience; oversee four offshore accountants.
• Experience implementing or improving ERP/expense management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI and/or automation tools in accounting workflows.
• Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment with growing processes.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

A newly public, high-growth digital infrastructure company is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead its accounting function from its Midtown Manhattan office.

The company develops and operates data center infrastructure supporting AI, high-performance computing, and other rapidly growing technology applications. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with significant responsibility for building and scaling the accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process, including general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Oversee accounting across multiple legal entities, including intercompany transactions and consolidations.
• Manage and develop a team of four offshore accounting professionals, establishing clear review procedures, deadlines, and accountability.
• Work directly with the CEO and provide timely, accurate financial information to support business decisions.
• Support accounting related to real estate, data center development, leasing, and property-level activity.
• Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
• Lead and support accounting and finance systems implementations, including expense management and related workflow tools.
• Optimize the company's use of QuickBooks and supporting financial systems.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive accounting processes and practically incorporate AI into accounting workflows.
• Coordinate with external audit, tax, and accounting providers.
• Help determine future staffing requirements and build out the accounting organization as the company scales.

Candidate Profile

• 7+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience with hands-on ownership of the monthly close.
• Strong technical and operational accounting fundamentals.
• Multi-entity and intercompany accounting experience required.
• Experience within real estate accounting strongly preferred, including exposure to development, leasing, property-level entities, or similar environments.
• Previous managerial experience; this person will initially oversee four offshore accountants.
• Experience implementing or improving accounting, ERP, expense management, or related financial systems.
• Expense management system implementation experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI and/or automation tools in practical accounting workflows.
• Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where processes are still being built.
• Able to work directly with executive leadership while remaining hands-on with the accounting.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be comfortable working full-time in the NYC office.
