UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group is seeking a Controller to lead multi-entity accounting and financial reporting for a client with diverse entities. This is a remote position and requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a solid internal controls framework.

You will oversee cash management, budgeting, audits, and compliance, while coaching the accounting team and partnering with ownership on strategic financial decisions.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5–10 years of accounting or finance experience required.

A great UHY client is seeking a Controller. The ideal candidate will have multi-entity accounting experience, strong cash management and internal controls expertise, and a hands‑on leadership style with excellent communication skills.

The Controller role is a remote position. This is a client direct hire position.

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting across multiple legal entities, including corporations and partnerships.
• Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, reporting systems, and internal controls to protect company assets and support accurate financial information.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and internal financial statement preparation.
• Oversee cash management, monitor bank balances, evaluate investment opportunities, and support liquidity planning.
• Lead the budgeting process by coordinating schedules, consolidating financial data, analyzing results, and recommending financial plans.
• Monitor budget performance, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare and present financial reports, special analyses, and performance updates to ownership and leadership.
• Coordinate audits and work with external auditors to ensure accurate financial records and compliance.
• Monitor applicable federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements and maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Develop accounting standards, improve processes, and strengthen financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff, including assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, and supporting professional growth.
• Partner directly with ownership on financial decisions, business priorities, and growth initiatives.
• Maintain the confidentiality of financial information and support special projects as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5-10 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing accounting for multiple legal entities, ideally 10-12 entities with varying structures, including C-corporations, S-corporations, and partnerships.
• Strong cash management, general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and internal controls experience.
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, expense tracking, and performance management.
• Hands‑on leadership approach, with the ability to work directly alongside the accounting team while serving as a trusted finance partner to ownership.
• Strong communication, judgment, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and time‑sensitive requests in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience with QuickBooks or other financial accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of auditing, accounting standards, corporate finance, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience in an international business environment is highly desirable.
• Experience in a family‑owned business is a plus.
