Job summary

Madison-Davis, LLC is seeking a senior controller to own accounting and external reporting across broker-dealer and public-vehicle entities under U.S. GAAP.

This is a senior, hands-on role at the center of the finance function, partnering with SEC reporting, corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, tax, treasury, and legal. You will lead monthly and quarterly closes, review SEC filings, ensure balance sheet substantiation, and mentor a team of accounting professionals.

Qualifications

• CPA required with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 12+ years of financial accounting experience in financial services, Big 4 preferred.
• Hands-on experience with consolidated financial statements and SEC reporting.
• Broker-dealer, legal entity control, or multi-entity reporting experience is a strong plus.
• Track record of leading close processes and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting and external reporting for broker-dealer and public-vehicle entities under U.S. GAAP.
• Lead monthly and quarterly close, consolidation, intercompany, and income tax entries.
• Review quarterly and annual financial statements for external reporting.
• Review SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and registration statements).
• Balance sheet substantiation and accrual review with escalation to senior management.
• Provide variance commentary on balance sheet and P&L for leadership.
• Guide accounting guidance on new structures, transactions, and entity changes.
• Drive process improvements, controls, and system upgrades with technology.
• Coach and develop a team of accounting professionals.

What you’ll own

• Accounting and financial oversight for a group of broker-dealer and public-vehicle entities under U.S. GAAP.
• The monthly and quarterly close, including review of consolidation, investing, financing, intercompany, and income tax entries.
• Review of quarterly and annual financial statements for external reporting.
• Review of periodic and transaction-related SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and registration statements).
• Balance sheet substantiation and accrual review, with escalation of key issues to senior management.
• Variance commentary on balance sheet and P&L results for leadership.
• Accounting guidance on new structures, transactions, and entity changes.
• Process improvement, control enhancements, and systems upgrades in partnership with technology.
• Coaching and developing a team of accounting professionals.

What you bring
