Atrium Staffing LLC is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting operations and partner with the Executive team to provide strategic financial insights. This hands-on role includes managing a remote bookkeeper and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across close, reporting, and control processes.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong leadership skills, and a CPA designation is preferred.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports with insights on performance.
• Supervise and support one remote bookkeeper, reviewing work and ensuring timely completion.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger maintenance.
• Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, and manage ongoing cash requirements.
• Coordinate with external accountants on tax preparation and compliance.
• Maintain internal controls and document accounting procedures for efficiency gains.
• Support budgeting and forecasting and analyze variances between actuals and targets.
• Partner with leadership on financial questions and provide hands-on accounting support.

Our client is a privately held organization with more than 50 years in business. The company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join their team and contribute to their continued success. This is an independent, hands‑on position with one direct report.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$130k - $150k

Position Overview:

The Controller will oversee financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This individual will work closely with the Executive team to provide strategic financial insights, maintain financial stability, and support the company’s growth.

Responsibilities of the Controller:

• The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate, complete financial records.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports, providing insight into business performance.
• Supervise and support one remote bookkeeper, reviewing work and ensuring timely completion of accounting activities.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger maintenance.
• Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, and manage ongoing cash requirements.
• The Controller will ensure timely completion of required filings and coordinate with external accountants on tax preparation and compliance.
• Maintain internal controls, document accounting procedures, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Support budgeting and forecasting and analyze variances between actual results and expectations.
• Partner with company leadership on financial questions and provide dependable, hands‑on accounting support.

Required Experience/Skills for the Controller:

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience managing and leading a team.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Controller:

• CPA designation.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
