Job description

Controller will be responsible for the accounts receivable and payable functions, and coordination of month end close for our multi-location organization. This includes preparation of financial statements, journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger account balances, researching and correcting discrepancies, and compiling key indicator reports. Candidate will participate in process improvement projects, and other special projects supporting job costing and purchasing functions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month end close and yearend financial audit
• Preparation and posting of month end journal entries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform necessary analysis
• Compile weekly or monthly key indicator reports and research exceptions
• Participate in cross-functional process improvement teams
• Manage Accounts Receivable, Billing, Purchasing and Accounts Payable functions
• Manage daily online banking activity
• Provide Support for Management team, Special Projects
• Oversee financial aspects of Payroll function, and provide backup
• Oversee Business and Work Comp Insurance
• Calculate and reconcile sales representative commission program
• Fixed Asset accounting
• Manage Inventory process and reconciliations

Education

• BA or BS in Accounting
• CPA or CPA eligible preferred

Position Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Strong computer skills, specifically Excel
• Experience working in Microsoft Great Plains accounting package
• Ability to work with and interface with all levels of the organization in a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be detailed, analytical, and able to solve problems
• Must be results oriented
• Good organizational skills
