Job summary

CFS in Orange, CT is seeking a hands-on Controller to own the finance function end-to-end, reporting directly to executive leadership. This full-time onsite role offers a path to influence strategy and build processes in a growing, environmentally-focused company.

You will manage cash, payroll, AP/AR, inventory, monthly closes, and oversee a team of five plus indirect reports. A bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and GAAP knowledge are required, with ERP and POS experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Progressive accounting experience, including supervisory leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and advanced Excel; ERP/POS experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own daily cash management, banking relationships, reconciliations, and payables across accounts.
• Ensure accuracy of the general ledger and prepare monthly, quarterly, annual statements.
• Lead month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and inventory costing in Sage.
• Supervise payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.
• Oversee 5 direct reports and multiple indirect reports; monitor POS/ordering system.
• Oversee OSHA compliance, audits, tax filings, and HR/insurance renewal processes.
