Job summary

Guided Search Partners seeks an experienced Financial Controller with a strong cost accounting background to oversee budgeting, cost analysis, and financial reporting for manufacturing operations.

You will manage cost controls, lead inventory valuation, support manufacturing cost analysis, and provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership to improve margins, collaborate with operations to drive efficiency, and maintain GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, including cost accounting.
• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and inventory management.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and closings.
• Lead cost accounting: product costing, standard costing, variance analysis.
• Prepare cost reports and profitability analyses.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and compliance.
• Coordinate with operations to improve margins and reduce costs.
• Support audits and mentor accounting staff.

The ideal candidate will manage accounting functions, improve cost controls, support operational efficiency, and provide strategic financial insight to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including:
• General ledger
• Accounts payable/receivable
• Payroll
• Month-end and year-end close
• Lead cost accounting activities including:
• Product costing
• Standard costing
• Variance analysis
• Inventory valuation
• Manufacturing cost analysis
• Prepare and analyze:
• Cost reports
• Profitability analysis
• Develop and maintain internal controls and compliance procedures
• Monitor inventory accuracy and coordinate physical inventory counts
• Partner with operations and production teams to improve margins and reduce costs
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes
