ApartmentIQ is seeking an experienced Controller to lead and scale the accounting function for a fast-growing SaaS company. Reporting to the CFO, you will own financial reporting, month-end close, audits, and accounting operations while partnering with leadership to support strategic growth.

You will implement modern tools, build scalable processes, and contribute to executive decision-making with hands-on leadership in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA required; 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience leading audits and implementing internal controls; ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and GAAP-compliant statements.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger and automate processes.
• Lead annual financial statement audits and liaise with auditors; maintain internal controls.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury; collaborate with FP&A on budgets.
• Hire, manage, and develop the accounting team; build scalable infrastructure.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will own financial reporting, month-end close, audit, compliance, and accounting operations while partnering closely with executive leadership to support strategic growth.You will blend strategic financial leadership with a collaborative approach to our day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring the team successfully meets its goals. In this role, you will take active ownership of our growth by building robust accounting processes, implementing modern financial tools, and jumping in at any level—from complex executive reporting to quick transactional fixes.
