Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Finance Controller in Johnson City, TN for a growing manufacturing company. This hands-on role reports to senior leadership and partners with operations to improve financial processes and drive performance.

Responsibilities include overseeing GL, month-end close, manufacturing cost accounting with standard costing, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. You will strengthen internal controls and coordinate audits while providing actionable insights with dashboards and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Active CPA designation.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing with standard costing and inventory accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and month-end close.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, general ledger accuracy, and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variances.
• Analyze manufacturing profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and financial planning.
• Develop financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs for leadership.
• Strengthen internal controls and coordinate external audits.
• Oversee working capital management, AR/AP, and cash flow optimization.
• Collaborate with operational and executive leadership on strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing profitability and partner with operations to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and financial planning activities.
• Develop financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Strengthen internal controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate external audits.
• Oversee working capital management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash flow optimization.
• Collaborate with operational and executive leadership on strategic initiatives, process improvements, and business growth.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active CPA designation.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, including standard costing and inventory accounting.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close.
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.

Preferred:

• Experience in industrial manufacturing or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with quality‑driven manufacturing operations and compliance requirements.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• MBA or master's degree in a related field.
