Job summary

A prominent law firm in Houston is seeking an experienced CPA/Controller to manage its accounting team and oversee financial operations. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of accounting experience with management experience. Responsibilities include supervising accounting processes, maintaining internal financial records, and facilitating tax preparation. This role offers a base compensation of up to $200k, along with bonuses and excellent benefits. The position is on-site in central Houston.

Job description

Iconic Houston, TX hq'd Plaintiff Litigation Law Firm seeks a strong CPA/Controller. Central Houston location. On-site. Heavy, strong compensation with lots of upside!

Responsibilities

• Supervise accounting staff of 8 people
• Supervise the monthly close process, the trust settlement process, and the monthly/quarterly cash flow statements, consolidation reporting, and financial package preparation
• Maintain accounting system
• Maintain Partner's capital accounts
• Maintain IOLTA account and distributions/oversight
• Maintain internal books and finances Analyze financial transactions
• Facilitate tax preparation including quarterly estimates for 1065, franchise returns, and K-1's
• Facilitate year end processes and procedures
• Approve/audit payments from/to trust, vendor, and client payments

Qualifications

• 10+ years of multi-entity/high volume accounting experience with at least 5+ years of management experience
• Computer fluent in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

BASE COMPENSATION UP TO 200K + BONUS + TERRIFIC BENEFITS. Location - central Houston. On-site position.
